Mixed operation
Between 1971 and 1997, the property changed hands several times, but was run as a hostel throughout the period. In 1997, however, the place began to move away from the original hostel idea, when Hans Korsgaard bought the property.
Korsgaard introduced a more mixed operation, where both room rental, cabin rental and courses became part of the business. In 2001, Knudhule finally resigned from the hostel association after more than 65 years of membership.
New name and new times
In 2013, Knudhule was taken over by the current owners Dean Jespersen and Anders Kalstrup. The place changed its name to Knudhule Badehotel to signal new times with a focus on pampering and relaxation with good food, good wine and good hospitality.
With its location by forest and lake, Knudhule still offers excellent opportunities for the healthy outdoor life that was so important to Pastor Wienberg. Under the current owners, however, the old youth hostel has been completely transformed into a modern bathing hotel with an a la carte restaurant, parties, conferences and food outside the house. And it's a transformation that has been welcomed by satisfied guests from near and far.
